Jeff Hudson and Marshall McAnerney of HM Commercial Group are pleased to announce that Michaelbrook Golf Club, a 53 acre parcel of land in Kelowna’s Lower Mission has sold.
The property itself has quite a history, originally developed as a Turf Farm in the 1970’s by the Dumaresq family, of which several members still live here in Kelowna. The property is in the ALR and the course itself is 18 holes, 3721 yards with a clubhouse, restaurant and a 4 BR home. It has a reputation for being playable by golfers of all ages & skill levels.
The owners of Michaelbrook, Tom & Betty Stanbrook, state: “It has been a great ride and a privilege to run this golf course for the past eight (8) years. We are staying in the Okanagan but it’s time to pass the torch to a new group who can inject the energy and capital to take it to the next level.”
The new ownership remains locally grounded and family oriented, with many years as business and community leaders in the Okanagan.
Nadean Ostrom, a managing partner, commented: “Our family has frequented Michaelbrook for over 20 years so the opportunity to own this property is a bit of a dream come true. We will not be making major changes and will continue to keep this hidden gem a place all ages will enjoy as their recreational outlet. The current staff will remain in place and we look forward to their input and experience in making improvements going forward. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at the course.”
